“ It doesn’t get any better “
“ It doesn’t get any better “
Not my usual style of message … I thought I’d begin to share things that are imprinted in my mind. Comments, statements, questions that I’ve come across in the last three years since adding Widow to my list of life events.
This comment, to me, had a few more words on the end. They were ..
“ I’m 11 years in “
I won’t share where I was met with this golden nugget of a line, after a very brief introduction, as that would be unfair.
I will however share that I was floored !
At this time I was around 20 months in … let me tell you loud & clear .. that life had got better than it was in those early days, moments, weeks …
Firstly, I was able to sleep !!!!
I had an appetite… I didn’t have attached to my person a loo roll to deal with floods from my eyes & nose.
That simple change I saw as better … although in reality, life was far more hopeful than those early days, I had vague plans, enthusiasm was oozing from me … sometimes after big pep talks to myself, I’ll admit. However, life had without question turned a series of corners.
If I’d been told that at week 1, week 2 or month 4 … I dare not spend time wondering what that may have done to me, my confidence, my hope, my decision to live with some purpose. The simple admittance that I was going to seek joy out, there was joy, lots of it with my name on it & find it , I would. Oh yeah.
So, this comment … was in many ways a catapult to reinforce that I didn’t need to believe everything I was told, that I read, that I saw.
I was doing this well, however heavy it felt ..
There was a life worth living, I was worthy of it & I was going to keep going. That smiling & living happy, a new happy … was more than ok.
I was told that by a special lady too … “keep going”
Pass it on to those that need it
“ keep going “
Michelle ❤️
