About Me
“Wherever life has brought you, I hope you’ll find something here that reminds you that life changes, but our capacity for hope, love and joy doesn’t have to”
Hi, I’m Michelle.
I never imagined that some of life’s greatest lessons would arrive through heartbreak.
In 2023, my husband of almost 25 years was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Just four months later, our children and I sat beside him as he took his final breath. Two years later, after finding the courage to love again, my partner died suddenly from a heart attack.
Those experiences changed me forever.
But they didn’t take away my curiosity, my hope or my belief that even after life’s hardest chapters, there is still joy to be found.
I don’t believe joy and grief are opposites. I believe they can exist side by side.
That belief has shaped everything I write.
Through my blog, interviews & the community I’m building, I explore what it means to rebuild life after it changes without our permission. Whether you’re living with bereavement, disappointment, illness, divorce, failure or simply a chapter you never expected, my hope is that you’ll find encouragement here.
This isn’t a place that asks you to ignore pain or “just stay positive.”
It’s a place to ask difficult questions, to make peace where you can, to protect your peace, and to discover that life can still be meaningful, purposeful and unexpectedly beautiful.
Alongside my writing, I’m a business owner, mum and passionate believer that our story doesn’t end when life breaks our heart. Sometimes, that’s where a different story begins.
If you’ve found your way here, I hope you’ll stay.
Because life changes.
Love doesn’t.
And neither does our capacity for hope.

One other way in which I aim to support people is through my newly set up charity, The Riggo Foundation, named in memory of Gareth. The aim of the charity is to raise money to support young people who have experinced various types of trauma in their lives. I’m extremely excited about this venture and can’t wait to share more with you soon!
