Bright side ….
Bright side ….
The bright side they say … look on the bright side.
This is a phrase used, a thought process reserved for when times are a little sticky, not quite going to plan … feeling tough.
Those that lose their life partner, don’t usually hear this positive phrase from their network of support. As surely there isn’t a bright side … it’s all dark .. the death of a life partner comes without the option of the bright side.
When Gareth received his diagnosis & the dark side called, he refused. The realisation of the rich tapestry of life he had travelled to this point found him sitting on the bright side. Grateful, aware & a realist … aware that nothing is forever, grateful for his time to weave, love & cherish a life. He looked on the bright side … giving me the message to look for the bright side & jump in.
So, widows & widowers …. The bright side is the opposite of the dark side … we can live with both… let both carry us.
Face the light …
Look at life differently…
Weave the brightness into your darkness. Always ❤
