A heart full of…..

A heart full of…..

I had to stop, look and snap.

A heart full of bottle tops. Random.

It drew me in. Standing proudly in a Greek port, filled with things that had been used, discarded, destined to be recycled.

And I thought about our hearts.

They roll into this world and capture the hearts of those who care for us. Those who teach us, love us, hold our hands and walk alongside us.

And then life brings with it that sneaky thing called grief.

Life breaks hearts.

Grief accompanies a heart that has been broken. A heart that, for a while, perhaps doesn’t quite know where it belongs anymore.

Yet here stood this heart. ❤️

Full of rubbish, leftovers, discarded pieces and somehow absolutely beautiful.

Wanting to be noticed.

I noticed it … it moved me.

Because maybe our hearts are a little like this.

They carry the leftovers. The broken bits. The memories. The things we can’t throw away and the pieces we’ve picked up along the way.

And still, they can be beautiful.

Still, they can be filled again.

A heart doesn’t have to be empty of grief to be full of joy.

Perhaps filling our hearts with joy simply creates a warmer conversation with grief.

And there’s room for both. ❤️

Michelle ❤️
